The Northern Tip Of Borneo

Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, is also known as the Northernmost tip of Borneo, is located in the district of Kudat, in the state of Sabah, Malaysia. The tip is the meeting point of Sulu and South China Sea. Kudat is about a 3 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu.



  • Depart from Kota Kinabalu hotel and transfer to Kudat. It is located at the Northern Tip of Borneo and 3 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu.
  • Stop by at Sumangkap Village, well known for its “Gong” making skill by its local artisan.
  • Proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for a longhouse visit. Built entirely using local materials, it is home to the Rungus people community. Lunch in Rungus style.
  • Continue journey up to the Northern Tip of Borneo, Journey will take around 1 (one) hour before you reach a hill; the Simpang Mengayau.
  • Then a visit to Honey-bee farm at Gombizau Kampung Madu before heading back to Kota Kinabalu in the late evening.
